Building businesses and bodies that don’t burn out.

Marketing strategy + content creation for wellness-oriented coaches, teachers, and service providers. For human beings, by a human being.

We’re looking at business backwards.

Most coaching programs, coaches, and courses focus on the visible parts of your business. Things like marketing, offers, and funnels. The belief is that if you get the right recipe in place, success is inevitable.

But, this doesn’t account for the business owner who struggles to stay consistent long enough to get traction on their business, or the business owner who doesn’t trust their ideas so they outsource their creativity to Chat GPT, or the business owner who blew up on social media but doesn’t know what to do next.

That’s because behind every visible part of any business is an invisible foundation that supports and sustains growth.

This is the Business Ecosystem.

And at the heart of that ecosystem is a single seed (that’s you).

My job is to tend to and care for that seed.

To make sure you have the energetic capacity to maintain the consistency required to reach your goals.

To help you set clear, sane goals and coax the different aspects of your business to grow where you want them.

And to help you build messaging—the interwoven mycelium network of your business ecosystem— that’s effective, on brand, and aligned with the problems and desires of your ideal clients.

Once the foundation is thriving—the canopy can flourish and grow.

What it’s like to work with me

Most of my clients come to me with one of these scenarios:

  • They’ve grown a successful business but they are completely tied to every part of the operations and are unable to take time away

  • They’ve got a solid foundation of referral clients but no strategy to bring in clients when the referrals aren’t coming in

  • They’ve grown a large audience, but haven’t set up any funnels or monetization

  • They’re stuck in a cycle of reinvention (burning down & reimagining when the results aren’t what they hoped) and haven’t been able to get consistent forward momentum with content, offers, or revenue

Of course, every business—and business owner—is different, but I’ve worked behind the scenes in enough businesses (in addition to being an online business owner for over twenty years) to know what questions to ask, and where to look to accurately determine what needs attention first in the business ecosystem.

My clients are always amazed at how effortlessly I do this. It’s because I’m a pattern spotter and I wholeheartedly trust my intuition when it comes to troubleshooting where energy is stuck or leaking in a business ecosystem.

The solutions I offer are always informed by the human at the centre of the ecosystem. What does the human-being need to thrive so that in turn the business can thrive as well?

Here are the guiding principles I bring to my work:

Every business owner deserves to be well-resourced and supported as they do work they love to do.

This means that there isn’t some imaginary point in which one is worthy of the success they have. It’s not about who works the hardest, or whose business grows the fastest. If a business owner genuinely loves what they do, they are as worthy as anyone else to have the resources, time, energy, and information they need to build the kind of business that supports the lifestyle they want.

We’ve created unrealistic expectations on our productivity, especially when it comes to marketing and sales.

Keeping up with marketing often looks like posting on multiple social media platforms, sending a newsletter, writing a blog, and launching a podcast. The reality is that most solo business owners simply don’t have the capacity to keep up with the demand. The introduction of AI into this productivity obsessed market has made keeping up with marketing and creative demands but has also resulted in generic cookie-cutter content that doesn’t say much of anything.

The solution requires capacity building, focusing on quality over quantity, and support.

Trends come and go, but old-school marketing strategies, patience, and consistency will always work.

Keeping an eye on and participating in marketing trends is a fun and important part of growing a brand that feels relevant, but the old-school strategies of relationship building, above and beyond client experiences, and leveraging a referral network need to be at the forefront of any marketing strategy.

Sustainable growth and success takes time.

There are a lot of different ways to run a business and a lot of coaches out there telling everyone what to do. It’s normal to feel overwhelmed and confused. Business owners deserve clarity, focus, and direction in their business without being made to feel like they’re doing it “wrong”.

There are many different ways to run a business and there is no “right” way to do things—we’re literally just making it all up. It’s totally fine to disengage from the instagram business coaches to tune into yourself when it comes to how you run your business. It’s also okay to cherry pick ideas and try them out.

I will often try out new ideas in my businesses first before I share them with my clients. This self-experimentation is a tool that helps me teach new strategies or adapt them effectively for my clients.

Whether we like it or not, AI is here to stay.

I’m not for or against AI and I believe that our energy is better spent lobbying our local officials and voting for parties to enforce better control over the ecological impact of AI than it is spent trying to avoid using it. Because, it’s literally everywhere.

AI is great for summarizing, sometimes ideating, brainstorming, or answering your burning questions, but it isn’t a substitute for creativity. The best content is written by humans and the best offers are designed and built by humans.

One thing about working with me is that I will always encourage you to create without AI first. I always prefer receiving a very rough, very unfinished draft to review than a polished AI created piece of work. Your imperfect creativity is exactly what makes your work memorable to the people who are looking for what you offer.

Ultimately, I see my job as providing nourishment and direction for the human being at the centre of every business—the seed at the centre of the ecosystem—so that business growth can be sustainable, enjoyable, and exciting. I’m pretty much the sunshine.
