The worst way to use AI

I have some pet peeves when it comes to yoga classes:

  1. When the teacher gives a motivational speech during pigeon pose. Save those for spin class.

  2. When the teacher tells me to move “the foot” or “the hand” - what one? Mine?? It feels so disembodied to me.

  3. When the class moves too quickly. Let me BREATHE!!

  4. When the class description doesn’t match the class that happens.

  5. When the teacher says weird shit that doesn’t make sense.

Recently, I've added a new pet peeve to my list.

When the final relaxation (savasana) is written by Chat GPT. 👀 (those are words I never thought I would have to say)

The whole class this happened in was weird actually, but I'll save that story for another day.

Once we got into savasana I was ready to relax and forget about all the weirdness that had just occurred and then the teacher launches into a full scale motivational speech.

I try to relax, but something feels off.

My internal dialogue:

Is she reading this?

That’s what it is. She’s talking very quickly. She must be reading.

And then… It happened.

The Chat GPT tells started to show up.

X vs Y framing… I can’t remember the exact phrase, but it was kinda like this, “You're not lying here doing nothing. You're doing the most important work of your practice.”

And then something that went a little like this, “Then one day peace quietly shows up in your life.”

I’m feeling a bit perturbed at this point, but when the random Tuesday came out, I knew I wasn’t going to relax one bit during this savasana, “Most of what matters won't happen on the big days. It'll happen on a random Tuesday.(or something like that)

I’m trying to relax, but all I can think is “Damn, this savasana is brought to us by Chat GPT!”

And THIS is why I’m so fucking hell-bent on weaning wellness business owners off using AI to do the creative writing in their business. I don’t want to try to relax my way through an AI generated savasana.

There are so many cool things we can use AI for if it aligns with our values to use it, but creative writing doesn’t need to be one of them. Especially creative writing that is meant to guide people into deep relaxation and integration after a yoga class.

So don't do that. If you need help weaning off AI, book a free business audit and we'll figure out systems so you don't need to use that short cut for creating content anymore.
