The Business Ecosystem is inspired by yogic mind-body philosophy and based on everything I’ve learned working behind the scenes in coaching and service businesses for the past 3 years.

Why the Business Ecosystem?

I developed the Business Ecosystem as a way to help business owners understand how their business works as a whole instead of focusing on individual parts.

Each part of the ecosystem works independently AND interdependently with each of the other parts. What happens to one part of your business ripples through all parts and knowing where to focus energy for maximum impact throughout the ecosystem is a vital time and energy management skill.

At the centre of the ecosystem is YOU, the business owner. When you are taken care of, everything else in your business feels easier.

This is your business ecosystem.

  • Dandelion seeds floating in the air with a blurry green leafy background.

    You - the seed

Your sense of worth, your sense of safety, your ability to rest, and a deep sense of trust in what you’re here to do.

This is the felt sense of “okay-ness” that lies beneath all that you build in your business.

  • A gardening scene on a gray surface with soil, a green plastic scoop, gardening scissors, and a small decorative plant pot with soil and decorative yellow beads.

    Your Capacity - the soil

This is how resourced or depleted you’re feeling. Your resources will dictate the pace at which you build your business and inform your rhythms of work and rest.

No matter how much ambition you have, if you haven’t taken care of this part of the ecosystem, it will be very difficult to move forward with your business.

  • Close-up of tree roots on a forest floor with green moss, with a pathway and trees in the background.

    Your Direction - the roots

This is where your overall business model lives, your strategy, your longer-term vision, and where you decide what to build (and what to let go of).

Clarity is needed to move forward, and it’s also needed to make sure you have the capacity and energetic resources to take care of yourself.

  • Cluster of small brown mushrooms growing on a tree trunk in a forest.

    Your Visibility - the mycelium

This includes how you talk about your work, how you position yourself, your beliefs about money, selling, and visibility, your emotional relationship to consistency, and the stories you tell yourself about your business

This part of the ecosystem sets the tone for how you show up in your work.

  • An aerial view of a dense green forest with canopy of trees and visible winding paths.

Your Physical Business - the canopy

This includes your marketing, offers, pricing, systems, workflows, and your client experience.

This is the visible part of your business and is best supported through taking care of the other parts of your business.
